It uses each OS's content-protection API, which is reliable for full-screen or whole-window sharing. It's not bulletproof against every capture method (e.g. a phone camera pointed at your screen), and single-tab browser shares wouldn't show it anyway.
By design this transcribes the other party's voice too. Recording or transcribing someone without their knowledge is illegal in many places even if you're on the call yourself — know your jurisdiction's rules before using this on a real call. You can decline the system-audio permission and it'll run mic-only instead.
